Anna Perkins

Anna leads the marketing function at Deallus, joining the team in January 2022. Her focus is on ensuring we continue to develop a strategic and focused approach to our engagement with clients and demonstrate the value we bring to our clients in the Life Sciences sector. With more than 20 years’ experience, Anna has worked for some of the world’s most recognised brands including Samsung, Vodafone, HP and Equifax, as well as small start-ups. This has provided an insight into B2B marketing predominantly but also how it influences and impacts the consumer. Working across the complete marketing mix she now specialises in strategy, messaging, brand development and thought leadership content creation.

Anna studied English at Loughborough University and after completing her PGCE, taught in secondary schools in Berkshire for four years. She moved into marketing and is a Chartered Marketer.

What do you consider your strengths?

I bring a wealth of marketing experience to my role at Deallus from a range of industries and organisations from science and R&D to supply chain, and from the largest multi-nationals to small start-ups. This has provided me with an in-depth understanding of marketing trends, activities, and audiences. Knowing what works, and when, as well as the importance of brand and positioning in a challenging sector is key to my role.

I most enjoy developing and implementing a brand and corporate marketing strategy from the ground up. Understanding a business, its needs and objectives, the requirements of our clients and ensuring we’re communicating consistently and bringing real value to all we do, is what motivates me. Bringing tools and content to a team and organisation that allows them to be more effective and efficient in their work and supports their communications and projects with their clients is what drives me.

Deallus is a great place to work. The collaborative and supportive nature of the organisation means I can really make a difference. Its focus on driving a marketing strategy to deliver excellence to our clients allows me to engage with every member of the organisation to create what’s needed. I love the fact that there is no hierarchy, and everyone is trusted to do their best but can ask for help and support at any time. It is genuinely collaborative. It’s a challenging industry and fast-paced which means there is always something new to do and plenty to get involved in. The variety and drive to improve health for consumers is fundamental to the way we live, and I’m very proud to be a part of it.

Life outside of work

I read – a lot! I love modern fiction but also books on psychology and how people behave. I love listening to music and going to live gigs: I even travelled to Germany to see one of my favourite bands. I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, whether a day shopping or a BBQ in the garden. I have a kooky cat who I adore!
